Camp Joy

Fall Semester

Camp Joy is a one of a kind experience for our students at Oyler. It is an overnight camp for all students in grade 9 and over the past years the 10th grade has also been given the opportunity to go. Students spend time with Camp Joy Staff and Oyler Staff taking part in team building activities and adventures. They are also pushed outside of their comfort zone and learn communication skills that they take with them back to school.

Student Council

Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 3:10PM-4:30PM

Oyler has two different student council bodies, one represents the high school with the other representing the junior high. The High School Student Council works on creating events such as the Spirit Weeks, Pep Rally's, Prom, and Homecoming. They also have representatives that sit on the LSDMC meetings each month with the schools administration. The Junior High Student Council is new and they create events for their grades to take part in while trying to find ways to improve the junior high. Some important topics that have arose are adding sports, creating a mentorship program, and finding ways to increase attendance numbers.

Stock Market Challenge

Early May

The Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge is hosted at Cincinnati State where schools compete against each other in a simulated day on Wall Street. The challenge lasts an hour and a half with 90 seconds representing a traditional full day on Wall Street. Students are given $1,000,000 in fictitious money and they have the opportunity to buy and sell stock, with the ultimate goal to make the as much money as possible. In 2022, Oyler had the winning team and they went on to get 6th in the national competition.

Anthony Munoz Camps/Events

Various Days and Times

The Anthony Munoz Foundation has provided Oyler students with some of the most memorable camps and events throughout the school year. Students get to attend a weekend long football camp in the Spring and multiple leadership conferences over the Fall and Spring Semesters.

Entrepreneurship

Various days and times

During the Spring Semester of 2023, all of the seniors at Oyler took part in an entrepreneurship project in partnership with Square 1. Students created business proposals to be presented to both staff and outside business professionals. Students gained experience in public speaking, time management skills, and research methods. The skills learned through entrepreneurship helped prepare students for their next steps after high school.

Thank you to our amazing partners!!!!
